Hasenpfeffer.......

Love Bunnie's...

Look at this sweet Easter gift to my sister from her hubs..  needless to say they now have a litter or brood of 9 and they think more is to come..   I hope they like Hasenpfeffer aka.. rabbit stew ..doh.. don't shoot me dung beetles!  Down!

But I do have a recipe if someone is interested..  Yikes.. see I ducked that last shoe there.. pretty good for an old bag like me.

  1. I have always wondered what it tastes like, but I don't think that I could handle raising them or hunting them to make it. You make it and send me some, 'kay?

  2. Rabbit is tough meat, sorry Blossom my dad was a hunter.

  3. We had pair of California rabbits when I was in 4H. (See Alaina, I didn't 'fail' 4H. I even know what kind of rabbits these are!) Now I will dazzle you with even more rabbit knowledge...as cute and cuddly as they appear, a rabbit has to eat it's meal twice to get any nutritional value from it. Think about that the next time you want to rub noses with one.

  4. My aunt & uncle raised lots of rabbits for dinner when I was a kid. My sister & I stayed with them for a week one summer & got so attached to their non-pet rabbits - we actually convinced our parents to let us each have one. I always felt good about saving them from his plate. I named mine E.T. Isn't that weird? Thankfully, he looked nothing like E.T.

  5. So they have to regurgitate like my goat did, fairfield? My goat could clear a room with her burps. I still gave her kisses.

  7. They also have teeth like horses that grow and that is why they constantly chew and gnaw.
