Oops

I am going to share a funny story with you.

I went on a job interview today.  Over all I think it went very well, in fact I am going back tomorrow to wrap up some loose ends.  What loose ends you ask?

Here is the funny part.  Let me start from the beginning.  My husband called me last week to say that he received a phone call in regards to a job opening and I should call to inquire.  I did, set up the interview for Monday.  Now both my husband and the interviewee were concerned that I might have a hard time finding the location.  I have to admit, I am directionally challenged.  So this morning I called my husband and we figured out the best way for me to get there, I planned on leaving early so I would have plenty of time to get there in case I get LOST.  Baby sitter shows up and I leave on time, everything is going great.  UNTIL.....I am half way there and realize that I FORGOT my resume.  Oh no!!!  I did not want to be late, so I did not want to turn around, but how can I show up WITHOUT the resume!  I decided I would rather be on time.  I have to also let you understand that I worked with the interviewees' sister at one time and my husband also does some work for her too.  So I was not as worried as someone would be who was meeting the person for the first time.  Can you believe it though, who forgets the resume?  ME.

Like I said, the interview went really well and tomorrow I am going back to bring my RESUME that I forgot today.  Everyone cross your fingers for me and remember we ALL make mistakes, it's just how you handle them.  I admitted my mistake and we had a laugh.  My husband will never let me forget this one.

  1. Oh that sounds like something I would do.
I always leave the house so fast that I forget the little things that turn out to be the most important things.
Keeping my fingers crossed for ya.
I think showing up late would have been worse so good thinking on that

  2. I am super-super happy for you!!! OH! I hope it works out exactly like it should!
(I was so excited today that we actually got in the car 15 earlier than we needed to and were going to make it to swim practice *EARLY* for once... about 6 miles out of town my son shouted, "Mom! I forgot my guitar!"... Ah well, at least by the time we had turned around and fetched the guitar, we made it to swim on time. Considering what happened last week for guitar, I'll take it!

  4. Don't sweat it. At least you remembered your pants! (HA!) Can't you just email the resume to the person?

I'm sure you dazzled them and will have an offer in no time. Just make it understood that you will be blogging on company time.

  6. Oh- I hope it works out!
I wouldn't have turned around for the resume. In fact, just today I was leaving for an appt. already 2 min. late... as we were pulling out of the driveway, my 7yo said "I have to go to the bathroom" I said, "you'll have to hold it- we'll be there in 24 min. and you can go when we get there." She said "I have to go reeeeaally bad." I said, "you should have gone already! (which of course was a stupid thing for me to say!)I don't want to be late!" You'll be happy to know, I had pity & let her run back in the house. I did get there late, but it didn't matter of course. (Especially, since I saw the dr. for all of 3 minutes for the appt. Oh brother)
