ughhhhhh. I am such a bonehead!
I ran out of Oil based semi-gloss and thought I had another one kicking around the house..to my luck I found it. Or so I thought.
I painted almost all the surfaces of the cupboards today in the sun, and boy or boy were they drying REALLY REALLY fast!
I kept thinking right on that sun and wind are just making this so quick...the only thing I could not for the life of me figure out was WHY the paint brush strokes were being left in my painting?
Must be and old brush? so tonight I got a brand new one out, and painted the end piece to my upper cabinet . the one with the nice lines in it from the wainscoting panel. I just kept thinking the surface of this paint just looks weird. something is wrong?
OH YAY BABY...i went to clean the brush in turpentine and GUESS WHAT? no reaction. It was a water based latex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GROAN.
guess what I am doing tomorrow? yup. sanding off all the paint I put on today.
But the surface that gets me the most....is the lined panel....that stuff does not do well with sanding and what about the grooves?
I QUIT
I'm gonna go watch MEAN GIRLS.
BECAUSE RIGHT NOW I FEEL REALLY MEAN!!!!

The same thing happened (pretty much) to me about a year ago... I still haven't fixed.

ReplyDeleteIf you're like me, you want to get it over with and will work tirelessly until it's fixed.
But don't! Take it easy and don't stress. Do a little at a time, unless you're having a big dinner-party in a couple of days!!
Then you'll have to get your butt in gear and get that sh** done!!!!

I sanded them all down and they are done! And repainted.
Today I am doing the fun work. I am siliconing the glass into place and it is really fun seeing it come together...plus I got to watch Cold Case while doing it.
