Lebanon???

Why am I not overcome with the need to see Lebanon, KS before the year is out?

Who knows though, maybe it's like-totally-freakin-awesome!

So in my previous post, I suggested Nebraska because I thought suggesting KS sounded slightly too opportunistic for me. "Hey folks let's meet in KS! That way I only have to drive though Oklahoma (my old stomping grounds) to get there!"

Actually, when I look at Lebanon on the map, it does appear to be farthest away from our girls in the NE. We also have to take into consideration our token Canadian and CC who lives the farthest to the south.
I hope the Cali girls would be able to make it that far, but who knows. Amy has family in the midwest, so maybe she could coordinate her visits and it wouldn't be so bad.

I never do ANYTHING like this but I think it would be sooo worth it, that I'm willing to get myself just about anywhere. Hey, we could rotate houses! Meet at whoever's house wanted to host that year. (Oh, You didn't know this is to be a yearly get together?) And for those who are not in a position to host a houseful of goofballs, maybe they could co-host at someone else's house. I for one get super frazzled with things like that, so I would GLADLY take on a co-host.

else's and whoever's are new words, pass it on and use them often.

  1. Uh oh, guys. South Dakota just threw us a monkey wrench by the name of Belle Fourche.

It seems that Lebanon didn't take into consideration Hawaii or Alaska.

  2. Oh I got to excited when I thought you meant Lebanon Illinois that is right near my home town so totally doable, but alas it was KS

  3. Yes I think Hawaii would be splendid.

Is TS hosting this year? I can't wait to see his talking cats.

  4. Yes, yes. I believe TS hosting is the plan thus far. I call the couch!

  5. What did I miss? Why are you looking at Lebanons? There's a Lebanon, TN too. It's where my nephs live. I suspect there are a lot of Lebanons. In a post that's highlighting geography, I'm lost.

  6. Nothing, TS. You missed absolutely nothing. You just focus on keeping your couch pillows fluffed and we'll fill you in later.

  7. Hmm... No problem there, I don't have couch pillows. I do however have the ugliest couch known to mankind. Looks like tomato soup with flowers floating in it.

  8. Tomato soup is coming back and floral sofas never went out! Just be a peach and keep that friend of yours with the balls off the couch for now. The photo of him isn't of the highest quality, so it's hard to tell, but those things look like they might ooze a little.

  9. Oh I think we are going to need a whole litter of kittens. How about going center of the farthest away. The only problem why go somewhere that no one knows about. And Blossom I do not know what friend of TS's you are talking about or what balls but it just sounds bad, real bad!

  10. Right? He should have them looked at. BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME!

Yeah, we should do what you said, and then choose the neatest place in that area. If people are flying in, then we would probably want to stick with the city that they flew into.

Just remember in case you and Deborah decide to coordinate and take the same plane, that she did say the next time she flies she's going to wear nothing but a trench coat and flip flops.

  11. oh my goodness gracious. I'm gone for a few days & a vacation gets planned. Yippee!!!! But, alas, there ain't no way, no how I'm headed to KS... Its almost 1300mi from here. I'm lucky if I can leave alone to grocery shop 15min. down the road.

  12. At first girls I thought you were talking about Lebanon, the country!

Yay, lets go to the middle east and eat, falafel, tzatziki, and homous!!

    YUMMO.

And by the way..aren't there tornados in Kansas? I hate that movie the Wizard of Oz it scarred me for life.

  13. Tornadoes only last for a few minutes, and only take out what's in their path. I think that makes the odds of surviving one pretty high. Worse case scenario, we get a free trip to Oz!

I know, Becky. I'm afraid that no one is actually going to get to come to our meet up but me. In that case, it'll just be a road trip and I'll come visit all of you.

Time to check your stock of Constant Comment, friends.

  14. Oz! I can see us all napping in a field of poppy's now.

"A friend with balls that look like they might ooze a little"? There's a medication that will clear that right up!

  15. poppy's? wth?

    ahem...

  16. Constant Comment. 2 boxes. check.

  17. Okay I missed the poppytalk...what are you talking about? Opium fields? So that is why you call yourself FAIRFIELD house....oh ya.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You don't recall the poppy fields in The Wizard of Oz?

Don't make me get my flying monkey after you.
    TS...fly, fly...

  19. I just realized this is what happens when a group of individuals with ADD get a computer.

  20. Ya know, poppies are California's state flower. We could spend an afternoon sleeping in a sunny field after a great morning of junking and eating. Sorry Deborah, all flying monkies must be left at the border, they scare me. I think it was the hats.

Seriously, I don't travel too much and don't see myself getting on a plane in this life time. You all take lots of photos and cell phone videos to send me okay?

    ReplyDelete
  21. No I have blanked out mostly the whole Wizard of Oz. Except the flying monkeys and the green witch.

I loved monkeys as a kid and that nearly did me in...I am really scared of them.

    I recall no poppy fields.

  22. oh and I heard on the news last night that gas is going up at least 50 more cents by the end of?????? So that means a gas charge for flights.....maybe we should have a cyber vacation somewhere, here on chit chat.

  23. Dawn, I remember you were traumatized when I posted my witch and flying monkey button. Consider it therapy. You had to face your fear of flying monkeys or their little hats to post and read comments. I wonder are you afraid of bell boys, telegram delivery men, music grinders and their dancing monkeys as well? Time is up. We will discuss there issues at your next session.

You don't recall the poppy fields, Pinky? Maybe you were in the bathroom or searching for a snack. It was right after they spot The Emerald City... and the witch is watching them in her crystal ball saying: Poppies. Poppies will put
them to sleep. Sleeeeep. Now they'll sleeeeep!

  27. HeHeHe ... I suggest we go to Manhattan and see WICKED (complete with flying monkeys)!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sounds good to me! And then I'm going to catch a flight to see the west coast girls before I head home to where you ALL will be waiting at my house for the grandest surprise party ever known to man. Is that a plan?

Hey and really, I don't think Becky is crazy far away from the y'all.

    ReplyDelete
  29. goodie!!! If I'm not crazy far away from the y'all ;-)then come to see me! but, not really come see me AT my HOUSE b/c company stresses out my husband. welll, a lot stresses him out, but that isn't the point here. strange women (strangERS, I should say) in our small home, he would NOT get. Well, actually, he doesn't get that anyway.
